Your Questions, Answered

  • Green Hummingbirds creates private, curated group travel experiences in Costa Rica. We handle every detail — from airport transfers, accommodation to wellness sessions, local adventures, and your daily flow — so you and your people can simply arrive and be present.

Think of it less like booking a trip and more like handing the reins to someone who genuinely cares about getting it right.

  • Our experiences are designed for groups of friends, couples, families, and small groups who want to travel together without the coordination headache. Whether you're celebrating a milestone, craving a genuine reset, or simply wanting to reconnect with the people who matter, this is for you.

  • When you book a rental yourself, you're managing a dozen moving parts — finding the right property, coordinating transfers, researching restaurants, booking activities, and troubleshooting surprises. We take all of that off your plate.

Beyond logistics, we thoughtfully design the shape of your time together: a balance of adventure and rest, shared meals and personal space, exploration and stillness. That intentionality is hard to replicate on your own.

  • Start by reaching out through our contact page. Share a little about your group, your ideal timing, and what you're hoping to feel during your time away. From there, we'll connect to learn more and begin designing something tailored to you.

  • We recommend reaching out at least 6–8 weeks before your desired travel dates to allow time for thoughtful planning. For peak season travel (December through April), earlier is always better. That said, don't hesitate to reach out even if your timeline is tight — we'll let you know what's possible.

  • Our experiences are designed to feel intimate and private. Group sizes typically range from 4 to 12 guests, though we can discuss options outside that range depending on the type of experience you have in mind.

  • Absolutely — customization is at the heart of what we do. Your itinerary is built around your group's preferences, pace, and priorities. Some groups want packed days of adventure; others want mornings slow and open. We design around what feels right for you.

  • Every experience is unique, but typically includes: private villa accommodations, curated dining and chef dinners, wellness sessions, local cultural experiences, adventure activities, airport and in-country transfers, and full on-the-ground support throughout your stay.

We'll walk you through exactly what's covered when we design your specific experience together.

  • Costa Rica is extraordinary for this. Depending on your group's interests, experiences might include yoga and meditation, surf lessons, waterfall hikes, wildlife encounters, massage and bodywork, cooking classes with local chefs, sunset sailing, and more. We curate what resonates with your group specifically.

  • Yes, always. We gather dietary information from everyone in your group during the planning process — allergies, intolerances, preferences, and lifestyle choices — and communicate them to our culinary partners. No one should have to navigate that at the table.

  • Pricing varies based on group size, duration, activities, and the level of customization involved. We're transparent about costs throughout the process and will provide a clear breakdown before anything is confirmed.

If you're not sure whether it fits your budget, reach out anyway. We're genuinely open to exploring what's possible and finding something that works for you.

  • We strongly recommend it. Travel insurance protects your investment in the event of unexpected cancellations, medical situations, or travel disruptions. We can point you toward reputable options if you're not sure where to start.

  • Most visitors from the US, Canada, the EU, and the UK can enter Costa Rica visa-free for up to 90 days. We recommend verifying entry requirements based on your specific passport with your country's foreign travel authority before booking.

  • We recommend flying into Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, Costa Rica. It's the closest international airport to our experiences and makes for a smooth, straightforward arrival — no long drives, no unnecessary travel stress. Most major US and Canadian cities offer direct flights into Liberia, particularly during peak season.

  • We'd love to hear from you. Visit our contact page and share what's on your mind. No question is too small there's no pressure — just a genuine conversation about whether this might be a good fit.
